Dear Friends of Sig,

In our first newsletter (you can read it here), we mentioned that upcoming topics would include:

  • The history of Sig Luscher Brewery
  • Our taproom and our vision for downtown Frankfort
  • Our beer and company philosophy
  • The Sig Luscher team

But first things first--the burning question that’s on everyone’s mind...

When will we be opening? Construction is rapidly nearing completion, and our Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) inspection is scheduled for December 17. If all goes well, our plan is to have our “soft” opening on December 22nd and our grand opening on December 27th. Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more details.

Sig Luscher History

Some of you may already know a little about our history from our website, recent newspaper articles--or if you happen to know one of us personally--from our endless jabbering about how interesting we think it is (sorry, we can’t help ourselves sometimes).

To share some of this rich history, we just added a “History” section to our website. Be the first to check it out, and please use the “Contact Us” form in the footer if you’d like to alert us to any Sig Luscher history we may have missed.

We owe a debt of gratitude to Stephanie Lang with the Kentucky Historical Society for volunteering to be Sig Luscher’s “Historian in Chief”. Through a variety of public and private historical collections and archives, she’s already discovered many things we never knew about Ol’ Sig.

To good beer and good company. Prost (that’s German for “Cheers”)!
